High School Basketball Journey
Kevin Ferrer started his basketball journey playing for the Tiger Cubs high school team. He played with them from 2009 to 2010.
Becoming Rookie of the Year
In his first year with the Tiger Cubs, Kevin was named the Junior's Rookie of the Year. He and team MVP Ron Javier helped their team finish second in the elimination rounds. However, they were stopped in the Final Four by the Kiefer Ravena-led Ateneo Blue Eaglets.
Earning MVP Honors
In his last year with the Tiger Cubs, Kevin was named the Junior's Most Valuable Player. He led his team to the Finals, where they again faced Kiefer Ravena and the Blue Eaglets. The Eaglets had an amazing undefeated season. Kevin scored 35 points in Game 1, helping the Tiger Cubs win and tie the series. But the Blue Eaglets won the next two games, taking the championship.
College Basketball Career
Even with offers from other schools, Kevin chose to stay with his high school alma mater. He joined the UST Tigers college team in 2011.
First Year in College
In his first college season, Kevin averaged 7.6 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. He helped the Tigers reach the Final Four, finishing fourth in the season. They faced the Ateneo Blue Eagles again, but the Tigers were defeated.
Reaching the UAAP Finals
In his second year, Kevin helped the Tigers return to the UAAP Finals. He scored a season-high 17 points in the Final Four game against the NU Bulldogs. The Tigers then played against the Ateneo Blue Eagles in the Finals but lost the series. Later that year, Kevin played a big part in the Tigers winning the Philippine Collegiate Champions League. They defeated the Blue Eagles in a close series to become national champions.
Strong Defensive Play
During his third season, Kevin became known as a key defender for the Tigers. He often guarded the best scorers on other teams. He also improved his scoring, especially in the Final Four. The Tigers made history by being the first fourth-seeded team to beat a top-seeded team in the UAAP Final Four. They reached the UAAP Finals for the second year in a row. In Game 1 of the Finals, Kevin led the Tigers in scoring as they won a close game. However, they lost the next two games and the championship.
Dealing with an Injury
In his fourth season, Kevin played the first eight games. But he then broke his left hand during practice. This injury made him miss the rest of the season. The Tigers did not make it to the Final Four that year.
Final College Season
In his final season, Kevin led his team to the finals once more. They played against the FEU Tamaraws. In Game 2, Kevin made six three-pointers, helping the Tigers win and force a Game 3. However, they ultimately lost the championship.

Starting with Mighty Sports
In 2016, Kevin Ferrer began his professional career. He joined the Mighty Sports team in the Pilipinas Commercial Basketball League.
Playing for Barangay Ginebra
Kevin was drafted by Barangay Ginebra San Miguel in the 2016 PBA draft. He signed a three-year contract with the team. In his first PBA game, he scored 3 points and grabbed 3 rebounds. He later scored a career-high 25 points in a game against the Star Hotshots. Kevin was also chosen as a PBA All-Star in 2017. He helped Ginebra win the 2017 PBA Governors' Cup championship. He won another championship with Ginebra in the 2018 PBA Commissioner's Cup. In 2019, he was traded to the NorthPort Batang Pier.
Time with NorthPort Batang Pier
Kevin joined the NorthPort Batang Pier in a trade that reunited him with his former college coach, Pido Jarencio. In his first game for NorthPort, he scored 23 points. An injury kept him out of the playoffs for the 2019 Governors' Cup. In 2020, he injured his foot again. In a game the following year, he scored 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds, helping NorthPort win. In January 2022, Kevin signed a new two-year contract with the Batang Pier.
Joining Terrafirma Dyip
On January 12, 2023, Kevin Ferrer was traded to the Terrafirma Dyip team. During a preseason game, he suffered an Achilles injury, which meant he would miss the 2023–24 PBA Commissioner's Cup. While recovering, he signed a one-year contract extension with the team in February 2024.
