Kiefer Isaac Crisologo Ravena (born October 27, 1993) is a Filipino professional basketball player. He plays as a point guard for the Yokohama B-Corsairs in Japan's B.League. Before joining the professional leagues, Kiefer played for the Ateneo Blue Eagles in the UAAP.
Kiefer is the son of Bong Ravena, a former professional basketball player. Kiefer had a very successful high school basketball career. He was known as one of the best high school players in the Philippines. He won three UAAP Juniors Championships and was named Finals MVP twice. Kiefer also won two UAAP Seniors Championships and was the UAAP Rookie of the Year in 2011. He was also named UAAP Most Valuable Player (MVP) twice. Kiefer has won many gold medals with the Gilas Pilipinas at the Southeast Asian Games.

Kiefer's Early Life and Family
Kiefer Ravena was born on October 27, 1993, in Iloilo. His father, Bong Ravena, was a professional basketball player. His mother, Mozzy Crisologo-Ravena, was a volleyball player. Kiefer is the oldest of three children.
His younger brother, Thirdy Ravena, is also a basketball player. Thirdy plays for the San-en NeoPhoenix in the Japanese B.League. His younger sister, Dani, plays volleyball for the Ateneo Lady Eagles. Kiefer graduated from Ateneo de Manila University in 2016. He studied Communications Technology Management. He was named after the actor Kiefer Sutherland, his father's favorite.
High School Basketball Journey
Playing for the Ateneo Blue Eaglets
Kiefer went to Ateneo de Manila High School. He joined the Ateneo Blue Eaglets team in the UAAP juniors division. He was the first freshman to play on the top team. Kiefer led the Blue Eaglets to three championships in a row. They won against the FEU Baby Tamaraws, the DLSZ Junior Archers, and the UST Tiger Cubs. During his time in high school, he won two Finals MVP awards. He was also part of the Juniors Mythical Team twice.
College Basketball Career
Becoming an Ateneo Blue Eagle
After high school, many colleges wanted Kiefer to play for them. But he chose to stay with Ateneo. He joined their seniors men's basketball team, the Ateneo Blue Eagles.
During his college years, Kiefer helped the Blue Eagles reach the Final Four four times. He led them to two UAAP championships in 2011 and 2012. He also helped Ateneo finish second twice in the PCCL. Kiefer led the Blue Eagles to their first championship in the Filoil Flying V Preseason Hanes Cup in 2011. In 2014, he led Ateneo to win their third basketball championship in the Unigames.
Kiefer won many awards while playing for the Blue Eagles. He was the 2011 Filoil Flying V Preseason Hanes Cup Most Valuable Player. He was also the UAAP Season 74 Rookie of the Year. He won the UAAP Most Valuable Player Award in Seasons 77 and 78. Kiefer was also named the 2014 Unigames Most Valuable Player. He was chosen for the UAAP Mythical Five team three times.
Kiefer also set some records in the UAAP. In his first game against La Salle, he scored 24 points. This was his best score in the UAAP seniors division at that time. In a game against the UE Red Warriors in 2014, he scored a new career high of 38 points. This was one of the highest scores by a single player in the UAAP Final Four era. He also set a record for most free throws taken in a single game with 25. Kiefer is one of only a few players in UAAP history to win back-to-back MVP awards.

Starting in Semi-Professional Leagues
Mighty Sports (2016)
In 2016, Kiefer joined Mighty Sports to improve his skills. He played alongside former PBA player TY Tang. He helped Mighty Sports win the Republica Cup. In his first game in the PCBL, he scored 16 points. He led his team to victory in Game 1 of the PCBL Finals. Kiefer was named the Most Valuable Player of the PCBL.
Texas Legends (2016)
In November 2016, the Texas Legends of the NBA D-League signed Kiefer. He was a "developmental player," meaning he would practice with the team. He was not part of the official playing roster.
Playing as a Professional
Alab Pilipinas (2017)
In March 2017, Kiefer signed with Alab Pilipinas. He joined the team after recovering from an injury. He made his ABL debut in the semifinals. Kiefer scored 16 points in his first game. His time with Alab ended when they were defeated in Game 2.
NLEX Road Warriors (2017–2021)
Kiefer joined the 2017 PBA draft and was picked second overall. He was drafted by the NLEX Road Warriors. He signed a three-year contract with them. Kiefer made his PBA debut on December 19, 2017. He had 18 points, 12 assists, and 7 rebounds. He quickly earned his first PBA Player of the Week award.
In May 2018, Kiefer was suspended by FIBA for 18 months. This was because he tested positive for a prohibited substance. The NLEX team supported him. They believed he took a pre-workout aid without knowing it contained a banned substance. Kiefer rejoined the team after his suspension ended. In September 2020, he signed a new three-year contract with NLEX.
Shiga Lakestars/Lakes (2021–2024)
In June 2021, the Shiga Lakestars in Japan's B. League announced they signed Kiefer. However, his move was delayed because of his contract with NLEX and the PBA. The PBA blocked the move at first. On July 24, he was finally allowed to join the Lakestars. NLEX officially released him on September 25. Kiefer made his debut on October 2. He played against his brother Thirdy's team, the San-en NeoPhoenix. He scored 11 points and had 8 assists in a win.
Kiefer re-signed with the Lakes in August 2022. After the 2022–23 season, the team moved down to the B2 League. In May 2023, he signed another one-year contract extension with the team.
National Team Career
Playing for Junior National Teams
Kiefer has played for the Philippine men's national basketball team. He was part of the 2009 Philippines Under-17 team. They finished 4th in the 2009 FIBA Asia Under-16 Championship. He also played for the 2010 Philippines Under-19 team. They finished 5th in the 2010 FIBA Asia Under-18 Championship. Kiefer won a gold medal with the 2010 SEABA Under-18 Championship Team.
Playing for Senior National Teams
Kiefer also played for the Sinag Pilipinas team. They won the gold medal at the 2011 Southeast Asian Games against Thailand. He played for Sinag Pilipinas again at the 2013 Southeast Asian Games. The team won all their games and became champions.
In 2015, Kiefer was named captain of the Gilas Cadets. They won the gold medal at the 2015 SEABA Championship in Singapore. The same team also won the gold medal at the 2015 Southeast Asian Games. Kiefer became the second Filipino basketball player to win three straight SEA Games gold medals. In 2017, he played for the Philippines again at the 2017 William Jones Cup. The same team also defended their title at the 2017 Southeast Asian Games. With this, Kiefer became the first Filipino basketball player to win a record four straight SEA Games gold medals.
In November 2017, Kiefer was part of the Gilas Pilipinas team for the 2019 FIBA World Cup qualifiers. He played against Japan and Chinese Taipei. He was also included in the team to play against Australia in February 2018.
3x3 Basketball
Playing for the National 3X3 Team
Kiefer competed at the 2013 FIBA Asia 3X3 Championship. He was part of the Philippine national 3x3 team. He also represented the Philippines in the 2017 FIBA 3x3 World Cup in France. The team finished in 11th place.
Other FIBA-Sanctioned Tournaments
Kiefer led Team Philippines to a win against Team Qatar in an exhibition game. This was at the 2015 FIBA 3x3 All-Stars in Qatar. He also represented Team Philippines in an exhibition game during the FIBA 3X3 World Tour Final in the UAE.
Return to the National Team
In November 2019, Kiefer returned to the national team. He represented the Philippines in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games. He won his fifth straight gold medal there. Kiefer was also part of the team for the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

Kiefer's Life Off the Court
Kiefer Ravena has also appeared on TV. In 2015, he starred in a sitcom called No Harm, No Foul on TV5. He acted alongside other PBA Superstars.
Kiefer also had his own reality show called Phenoms. He co-starred with his then-girlfriend Alyssa Valdez, a famous volleyball player. The show aired for two seasons on TV5. In October 2024, Kiefer announced his engagement to model and beauty pageant contestant Diana Mackey.
