Kiefer Isaac Crisologo Ravena (born October 27, 1993) is a Filipino professional basketball player. He plays as a point guard for the Yokohama B-Corsairs in Japan's B.League. Before turning pro, Kiefer played for the Ateneo Blue Eagles in the UAAP. He is known for using the "Pinoy step" in his game.
Kiefer comes from a family of athletes. His dad, Bong Ravena, was also a professional basketball player. His mom, Mozzy Crisologo-Ravena, played volleyball for the Philippine national team. Kiefer has two younger siblings who also play sports: his brother Thirdy Ravena plays basketball in Japan, and his sister Dani played volleyball.
Kiefer had a very successful high school and college career. He won many championships and awards. He was a three-time UAAP Juniors Champion and a two-time UAAP Seniors Champion. He also won gold medals for the Gilas Pilipinas at the Southeast Asian Games multiple times.

Kiefer Ravena's Early Life
Kiefer Ravena was born on October 27, 1993, in Iloilo. He was named after his father's favorite actor, Kiefer Sutherland. In June 2016, he finished college at Ateneo de Manila University with a degree in Communications Technology Management.
High School Basketball Journey
Playing for the Ateneo Blue Eaglets
Kiefer went to Ateneo de Manila High School and joined their basketball team, the Ateneo Blue Eaglets. He was the first freshman to play on the top team. He led the Blue Eaglets to win three championships in a row during his last three years. He also won two Finals MVP awards and was part of the Juniors Mythical Team twice.
College Basketball Journey
Joining the Ateneo Blue Eagles
After high school, many colleges wanted Kiefer to play for them. He decided to stay at Ateneo and join their senior men's basketball team, the Ateneo Blue Eagles.
During his time with the Blue Eagles, Kiefer helped them reach the Final Four four times. He led them to win two UAAP championships in 2011 and 2012. He also helped Ateneo win their first championship in the Filoil Flying V Preseason Hanes Cup in 2011. In 2014, Kiefer led Ateneo to win their third basketball championship in the Unigames.
Kiefer won many individual awards in college. He was the MVP of the 2011 Filoil Flying V Preseason Hanes Cup. He was also the UAAP Season 74 Rookie of the Year. He won the UAAP Most Valuable Player award in both Season 77 and Season 78. He was also named to the UAAP Mythical Five team three times.
Kiefer also set some records in the UAAP. In his first game against rival team La Salle, he scored 24 points. On August 10, 2014, he scored a career-high 38 points in a comeback win against UE. This was one of the highest scores by a single player in the UAAP Final Four era. He also set a record for most free throws attempted in a single game with 25. Kiefer is one of only three Ateneo players to win back-to-back MVP awards.

Professional Basketball Career
Starting in Semi-Pro Leagues
Mighty Sports (2016)
In 2016, Kiefer joined Mighty Sports to improve his skills before joining the professional league. He helped Mighty Sports win the Republica Cup. He also played well in the PCBL, earning the Most Valuable Player award.
Texas Legends (2016)
Later in 2016, Kiefer was signed by the Texas Legends of the NBA D-League as a "developmental player." This meant he would practice with the team but wasn't on their official playing roster.
Joining Professional Teams
Alab Pilipinas (2017)
In March 2017, Kiefer officially signed with Alab Pilipinas in the ABL. He made his debut in the semifinals, scoring 16 points.
NLEX Road Warriors (2017–2021)
Kiefer joined the 2017 PBA draft and was picked second overall by the NLEX Road Warriors. He signed a three-year contract with them. In his first PBA game, he had 18 points, 12 assists, and 7 rebounds. He quickly earned his first PBA Player of the Week award.
In May 2018, Kiefer faced a challenge when FIBA suspended him for 18 months. This was because he tested positive for a substance that was not allowed in sports. NLEX supported him, saying he took a pre-workout aid without knowing it contained the prohibited substance. He rejoined the team in September 2019. In September 2020, he signed a new three-year contract with NLEX.
Shiga Lakestars/Lakes (2021–2024)
In June 2021, Japan's B. League team, the Shiga Lakestars, announced they signed Kiefer. There was some discussion because of his contract with NLEX. However, in September 2021, NLEX officially released him, allowing him to join the Lakestars. He debuted on October 2, playing against his brother Thirdy, and had 11 points, 8 assists, and 3 steals. Kiefer played for the Lakes until 2024.
Playing for the National Team
Junior National Team
Kiefer has proudly represented the Philippines in basketball. He was part of the national under-17 and under-19 teams. He also helped the team win a gold medal at the SEABA Under-18 Championship in 2010.
Senior National Team
Kiefer played for the Sinag Pilipinas team at the 2011 Southeast Asian Games and won a gold medal. He continued to win gold medals at the Southeast Asian Games in 2013, 2015, 2017, and 2019. This made him the first Filipino basketball player to win five straight SEA Games gold medals.
He was also part of the Gilas Pilipinas team that competed in the FIBA World Cup qualifiers. In 2023, Kiefer was part of the final 12-man lineup for the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
3x3 Basketball
National 3x3 Team
Kiefer also played for the Philippine national 3x3 team. He competed in the 2013 FIBA Asia 3X3 Championship and the 2017 FIBA 3x3 World Cup.
Other FIBA-Sanctioned Tournaments
Kiefer led Team Philippines to a win in an exhibition game at the 2015 FIBA 3x3 All-Stars in Qatar. He also played in an exhibition game during the 2016 FIBA 3x3 World Tour Final in Abu Dhabi.
Suspension and Return
In May 2018, Kiefer was suspended by FIBA for 18 months from all basketball activities. This was due to a substance that was not allowed in sports. Kiefer explained that he took a supplement without knowing it contained the prohibited substance. FIBA noted that this happened because Kiefer lacked education about anti-doping rules.
After his suspension, Kiefer returned to the national team. He represented the Philippines in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, where he won his fifth gold medal.

Kiefer's Life Outside Basketball
In February 2015, Kiefer starred in a sitcom called No Harm, No Foul on TV5. He also had his own reality show called Phenoms with his former girlfriend, Alyssa Valdez, who is a famous volleyball player. The show aired for two seasons.
In October 2024, Kiefer announced his engagement to model Diana Mackey. The couple married in June 2025.
