Kevin James Taylor (born 15 September 1958) is a talented former Indigenous Australian rules footballer. He played for several teams across Australia. These included South Melbourne and Fitzroy in the VFL. He also played for East Fremantle and Swan Districts in Western Australia. Later, he joined West Torrens in South Australia. Kevin was known as a great player who could score lots of goals.

Early Days and Big Wins
Kevin Taylor started his senior football career in 1978. He played for the East Fremantle team in the West Australian Football League (WAFL). He quickly became known as a very good player.
In 1979, Kevin had an amazing season. He won the Simpson Medal for being the best player in the Grand Final. During that game, he kicked seven goals. He also scored his 100th goal for the season in that match.
Kevin's goal-kicking skills were outstanding. He won the Bernie Naylor Medal in 1979. This award is given to the player who kicks the most goals in the WAFL season. He finished that year with a total of 102 goals.
Playing as a Rover and Forward
Kevin was a versatile player. His main position was a rover. This player runs around the field to get the ball. He could also play in the forward pocket. This position is close to the goal, helping to score points.
Moving to Different Leagues
In 1981, Kevin moved to Victoria. He joined the South Melbourne team in the Victorian Football League (VFL). He played 14 games and kicked 24 goals for them. This included a game where he kicked five goals against North Melbourne.
After one season, Kevin returned to East Fremantle. In 1984, he briefly played for Fitzroy in the VFL. However, he only played one game before returning to East Fremantle again. That year, he kicked four goals in their Grand Final loss.
Playing for Swan Districts and West Torrens
After the 1984 season, Kevin joined the Swan Districts team. He played for them in 1985 and 1986. He had a strong start in 1986, but his form later declined.
At the end of 1986, Kevin left Swan Districts. He then moved to South Australia. In 1987, he played for West Torrens in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL).
Representing Western Australia
Kevin Taylor was also a representative player for Western Australia. He played for his state team from 1982 to 1984.
In 1982, he won another Simpson Medal. This was for being the best player in a game against South Australia. In 1983, he was selected as an All-Australian. This means he was chosen as one of the best players from all teams across Australia.
