Some historians believe the Khokhar people came from Rajput families. Other historians think they are connected to the Jatt community. It is clear that many Khokhars followed Hinduism during the 11th and 12th centuries. Over time, they slowly changed their religion to Islam. Today, almost all Khokhar people are followers of Islam.

Where Do Khokhars Live?

Most Khokhar people live in specific areas of Punjab. You can find many of them in the Salt Range in northern Punjab. Others live in the Gujranwala District in the central part of Punjab.

What Do Khokhars Do?

The Khokhar tribe is mainly involved in agriculture. This means they work with crops and animals to produce food.
