What is Kiddets About?
The show is all about five young alien friends called "Kiddets." Each Kidde has a special interest they love to learn about.
- Patches focuses on health and safety.
- Dapper loves arts and culture.
- Bounce is interested in mechanics.
- Stripes learns about leadership.
- Luna explores science.
They are space cadets, which means they are explorers-in-training! They attend a space academy on their home planet, WotWot. The Kiddets learn by playing in their playroom. This room has a great view of a spaceport floating above their planet. Sometimes, they ask for help from SpottyWot and DottyWot, who live on planet Earth.
How Kiddets Was Made
Kiddets was created by children's author Martin Baynton and filmmaker Richard Taylor. They worked together to develop the show.
A Special Partnership
Kiddets is a special project because it was made by two companies working together. These companies are Pukeko Pictures from New Zealand and Hengxin Shambala Kids Cultural Industry Development Co., Ltd. from China. This show is the very first official children's television show made jointly by New Zealand and China.
Animation and Live-Action
The Kiddets characters and their space station are made using computer animation. This means they are created with computers. The show also includes short clips from The WotWots. These clips show real-life footage. The visual effects company, Weta Workshop, helped create these parts. Weta Workshop is famous for its work on the Lord of the Rings movies.
