Kieferville is a small place in Ohio, a state in the United States. It's called an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and businesses, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or a village. Instead, it's part of a larger area called Putnam County.

The Story of Kieferville

How Kieferville Started

Kieferville was officially planned out, or platted, in 1870. This means its streets and lots were mapped out. This important step happened when a railroad line was built through the area. Railroads were very important back then for travel and moving goods.

The community was founded by a person named D. A. Kiefer. The area was named "Kieferville" in his honor.

Early Services

A post office was opened in Kieferville in 1876. This allowed people to send and receive mail. The post office served the community for many years. However, it eventually closed down in 1905.
