Long ago, in the 1870s, a writer named John Marius Wilson described Killerby. He said it was a small area, or "township," within a larger parish called Heighington. At that time, Killerby had about 605 acres of land and around 109 people living in 20 houses. He also mentioned that it was a meeting spot for the "Raby hounds," which were likely hunting dogs used by a local group for fox hunting.
