Kim Geun-Chol's Football Journey
Kim Geun-Chol began his football career with a lot of promise. He was seen as one of the best young midfielders when he was starting out. He even had a friendly rivalry with another talented player, Kwon Jip, during their high school days.
Early Career in Japan
Kim Geun-Chol started his professional journey in Japan. In 2002, he joined Júbilo Iwata, a team in the top Japanese league, J1 League. He didn't play any official games for them that year.
The next year, in 2003, he moved to Shonan Bellmare. This team played in the J2 League, which is the second division in Japan. He played many games for them, appearing in 41 matches and scoring one goal in 2003. He continued with Shonan Bellmare in 2004, playing 33 more games and scoring three goals.
Playing in South Korea
After his time in Japan, Kim Geun-Chol returned to his home country, South Korea. In 2005, he joined Daegu FC, a team in the K-League. He played three games for them.
