King's Field facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

King's Field is a special kind of video game called an RPG, which stands for Role-Playing Game. It was created by a company called FromSoftware. This game was very important because it helped shape how FromSoftware would make many of their popular games later on. These include famous titles like the Souls series, Bloodborne, and Sekiro.

Like many games from FromSoftware, King's Field is known for being quite challenging. Players need to be smart and careful with their attacks because their character moves slowly. This means you have to learn exactly when and where to strike your enemies. One big difference in King's Field is that you play from a first-person view, meaning you see the world through your character's eyes. Most of FromSoftware's newer games are played from a third-person view, where you see your character from behind.

What's in a Name?

There's a bit of a confusing story about the name of this game! When the game called King's Field was released in the United States, it was actually known as King's Field 2 in Japan. So, the first game released in the US was technically the second one in Japan!
