Kipper the Dog facts for kids
Kipper the Dog is a super popular character from a series of books for young children. These books were created by a talented British writer named Mick Inkpen. There are over 30 Kipper books, and they have sold more than 8 million copies! That's a lot of books! They've also been translated into over 20 different languages, meaning kids all over the world can enjoy Kipper's adventures. The books have even won many cool awards.
You might also know Kipper and his friends from the animated TV show called Kipper.
Meet the Characters
Let's get to know the fun characters from the Kipper the Dog books and TV show:
- Kipper the Dog - He's the main character! Kipper is a very friendly and curious dog with a big heart. He loves to collect things, but he's always happy to share. He looks a bit like a beagle or a Jack Russell terrier.
- Tiger - Kipper's best friend. Tiger is usually more sensible and clever than Kipper. Sometimes he can be a bit cheeky, but deep down, he's a really kind dog. He might be a Scottish Terrier.
- Jake - A friendly and warm-hearted sheepdog. Jake is another one of Kipper's good friends. Even though he's a smaller character in the show, he, Kipper, and Tiger have had lots of exciting adventures together.
- Holly - A happy white dog with brown spots. Holly is one of Kipper's friends.
- Pig - Kipper's other best friend. Pig absolutely loves to eat chocolate cakes and cookies! Sometimes he can jump to conclusions, but he's a good friend.
- Arnold - Pig's tiny cousin. Arnold is a toddler, but he's often more aware of things than Pig! He usually doesn't say much, but sometimes he'll say simple words like "duck" or "igloo." Arnold often has amazing experiences while the older characters are busy.
- Mouse - A little mouse who lives with Kipper in his house.
- The Bleepers - These are a couple of space aliens and a robot who live on the Moon. They are very unique friends!
Kipper Books
There are many Kipper books, and some of them have been translated into other languages, like Spanish. The first book, The Blue Balloon, came out in 1989. Since then, lots more stories have been published, including Kipper's Snowy Day, Kipper's Christmas Eve, and Kipper's A to Z: An Alphabet Adventure. These books help young readers learn about colors, opposites, numbers, and more, all while enjoying Kipper's fun adventures.
Kipper TV Series
