Knuffle Bunny Too: A Case of Mistaken Identity is a popular picture book for kids by Mo Willems. It came out on September 4, 2007. This book is a follow-up to another famous story called Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Tale. It even became the number one children's book on the New York Times Bestseller List!
What Happens in the Story?
The story is about a young girl named Trixie Willems. She has a special toy rabbit called Knuffle Bunny. One day at school, Trixie sees that her classmate, Sonja, has the exact same bunny!
The two girls start to argue about their bunnies. Their teacher, Mrs. Greengrove, takes both stuffed animals away. She gives them back at the end of the school day.
Later that night, at 2:30 AM, Trixie wakes up. She realizes that her teacher gave her Sonja's Knuffle Bunny by mistake! Trixie asks her dad, Mo, to call Sonja's house. They arrange to swap the toy rabbits back. After this mix-up, Trixie and Sonja quickly become good friends.
Awards and Recognition
Knuffle Bunny Too received a special award called a Caldecott Honor in 2008. The Caldecott Medal is given to the artist of the most outstanding American picture book for children. An "Honor" means it was one of the top books considered for the main medal.
It was also named a 2008 ALA Notable Children's Book. This means it was chosen by librarians as one of the best books for young readers that year.
This book is the second in a series of three. The final book in the trilogy is Knuffle Bunny Free: An Unexpected Diversion.
