Koby Stevens facts for kids
Koby Stevens (born 18 June 1991) is a former professional Australian rules footballer. He played for three different teams in the Australian Football League (AFL). These teams were the West Coast Eagles, Western Bulldogs, and St Kilda Football Club. Koby was chosen as the 22nd player overall in the 2009 AFL draft.
Koby Stevens' Football Journey
Koby Stevens started his football career playing for Gippsland Power. This team is part of the TAC Cup competition.
In 2008, he played for Vic Country in the 2008 AFL Under 18 Championships. He was also named in the TAC Cup team of the year. Plus, he joined the AIS/AFL Academy, which helps young players develop.
The next year, in 2009, Koby was the captain of the AIS/AFL Academy squad. He also showed leadership for Vic Country in the 2009 AFL Under 18 Championships.
After the 2012 season, Koby asked to move to the Western Bulldogs. He wanted to go back to his home state of Victoria. He also wanted to play again with his friend, Clay Smith. On 24 October 2012, Koby officially joined the Western Bulldogs.
Later, at the end of the 2016 season, Koby Stevens moved to the St Kilda Football Club. This was another trade between teams.

On 23 July 2018, Koby Stevens announced he was retiring from football. He was 27 years old at the time. Koby made this decision because he had ongoing problems with concussions. He was unable to fully recover from them.
