Kodela Siva Prasada Rao (born May 2, 1947 – died September 16, 2019) was an important Indian politician. He was a member of the Telugu Desam Party. He also served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the Sattenapalle area.
From 2014, he held the important position of Speaker for the first Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly. A Speaker is like the leader of the assembly meetings. He makes sure everyone follows the rules. Kodela Siva Prasada Rao had a long career in politics, lasting over 30 years. During this time, he was a minister in different governments. He handled important jobs like Minister of Home Affairs, Health, and Rural Development.

Life and Education Journey
Kodela Siva Prasada Rao was born on May 2, 1947. His birthplace was Kandlagunta village in the Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, India. He was married to Sasikala, and they had three children: two sons and one daughter.
He started his schooling in Siripuram, Guntur district. Later, he went to Loyola College in Vijayawada for his pre-university studies. He then studied medicine at Guntur Medical College. He earned his M.B.B.S. degree there. After that, he specialized in General Surgery. He got his MS degree from Banaras Hindu University.
A Long Career in Public Service
Kodela Siva Prasada Rao dedicated many years to serving the public. He was elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) several times. An MLA represents the people of their area in the state assembly.
Serving as an MLA
He was first elected as an MLA in 1983 from the Narasaraopet area. He continued to be elected from Narasaraopet in 1985, 1989, 1994, and 1999. This shows how much people trusted him. In 2014, he was elected as an MLA from the Sattenapalle area.
Important Roles as a Minister
Besides being an MLA, Kodela Siva Prasada Rao also held several key positions as a minister. Ministers are in charge of different government departments.
- Minister for Home (1987-1988): In this role, he was responsible for law and order in the state.
- Minister for Major & Medium Irrigation (1996-1997): He managed projects that bring water to farms, which is very important for agriculture.
