Kohei Hayashi (林 晃平, Hayashi Kōhei, born June 27, 1978) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a forward, which means his main job was to score goals for his team. He played for several professional football clubs in Japan during his career.

Kohei Hayashi's Football Journey
Kohei Hayashi was born in Hofu, Japan, on June 27, 1978. After finishing high school, he started his professional football career in 1997. He joined Gamba Osaka, a team in Japan's top football league, known as the J1 League.
Playing for Different Teams
Even though he was part of Gamba Osaka, Kohei didn't get to play many games at first. In September 1999, he moved to Consadole Sapporo, a team in the J2 League (Japan's second division). But he still found it hard to get playing time there.
He returned to Gamba Osaka in 2000, but he didn't play any matches that year. In 2001, he joined Kawasaki Frontale, another J2 League club. Here, he finally got to play in many games during 2001. However, his chances to play became fewer from 2002 onwards.
Later Career and Retirement
In 2004, Kohei Hayashi moved to Montedio Yamagata, another team in the J2 League. He played for this team for four seasons. During his time at Montedio Yamagata, he often came into games as a substitute forward, helping his team by scoring goals. He played many matches for them.
Kohei Hayashi decided to retire from professional football at the end of the 2007 season. He had a career spanning over a decade, playing for various clubs in Japan's professional leagues.
