Koichiro Nagatomo's Football Journey
Koichiro Nagatomo was born in Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan. After finishing high school, he joined a professional football club. This club was called Avispa Fukuoka in 2001. His team played in the J1 League, which is Japan's top football league.
Starting His Professional Career
During his first year, Nagatomo did not play in any matches. At the end of the 2001 season, Avispa Fukuoka moved down to the J2 League. This is Japan's second division football league.
Making His Debut
In 2002, Nagatomo finally got to play. On April 27, he played his first game. He came in as a substitute defender against Ventforet Kofu. A few days later, on May 6, he played again. This time, he was a substitute midfielder against Omiya Ardija. These were the only two games he played for Avispa Fukuoka.
Moving to a New Club
In 2003, Koichiro Nagatomo moved to a different club. This team was named Shizuoka FC. Shizuoka FC played in the Japanese Regional Leagues. These are lower-level football leagues in Japan. He continued to play for Shizuoka FC until 2006.
