Koji Nishimura (西村 弘司, Nishimura Koji, born July 7, 1984) is a former Japanese football player. He was a skilled goalkeeper who played for several teams during his career.

Koji Nishimura's Football Journey

Early Career and First Club

Koji Nishimura started his professional football journey in 2003. He joined Kyoto Sanga FC, which was known as Kyoto Purple Sanga back then. He played as a goalkeeper for this team for several years.

Time with Nagoya Grampus

After playing for Kyoto Sanga FC, Koji Nishimura moved to Nagoya Grampus. He joined this club in 2008 and stayed there for nine seasons. During his time with Nagoya Grampus, the team achieved some great things. They won the J1 League championship in 2010. They also finished as runners-up in the J1 League in 2011. In 2009, they were runners-up in the Emperor's Cup, which is another important football competition in Japan.

Retirement from Football

Koji Nishimura left Nagoya Grampus on November 10, 2016. He then announced his retirement from professional football on December 30, 2016. He had a long and successful career as a goalkeeper.
