Kramer is a very small unincorporated community in Liberty Township, Warren County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. An unincorporated community means it's not officially a city or town with its own local government.
The Story of Kramer
Kramer started as a place with a post office in 1885. It was first called Cameron Springs. This name came from its first postmaster, William Cameron.
Later, in 1889, the name changed to Indiana Mineral Springs. Then, in 1901, it changed again to Kramer. The community was named after Henry L. Kramer. He built a famous resort nearby called Hotel Mudlavia.
Hotel Mudlavia was special because it used the local mineral springs. People believed these springs had healing powers. A company called Cameron Springs also bottled water from these springs. They used the water's good reputation to sell their product. In 2000, a larger company, Perrier Group of America, bought Cameron Springs.
