Kristen Nicole Edmonds (born May 22, 1987) is an American professional soccer player. She has played as a defender and midfielder for several teams. These include Stjarnan in Iceland and WFC Rossiyanka in Russia. In the United States, she played for the Western New York Flash, Orlando Pride, Kansas City Current, and NJ/NY Gotham FC in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL).

Kristen Edmonds' College Soccer Journey
Playing for Rutgers Scarlet Knights (2005–2008)
Kristen Edmonds went to Rutgers University from 2005 to 2008. There, she played soccer for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. In her first year, she was the first new player to lead the team in scoring since Carli Lloyd. Kristen scored six goals and made six assists. She was also named to the SoccerBuzz All-Region Freshman First Team.
The next season, she scored two goals and had one assist in 16 games. In her final year, she started all 22 games. She scored five goals and made six assists, showing her skill on the field.
Kristen Edmonds' Professional Club Career
After college, Kristen tried out for Sky Blue FC twice but did not make the team.
Starting with New Jersey Wildcats (2005–2006)
Kristen played for the USL W-League team New Jersey Wildcats. This was during the 2005 and 2006 USL W-League seasons. In 2005, her team won both the regular season and the championship. Kristen played in four games, scoring two goals and making one assist.
Joining Hudson Valley Quickstrike Lady Blues (2009–2010)
Kristen then played for the new USL W-League team, Hudson Valley Quickstrike Lady Blues. She played for two years under coach Jesse Kolmel. Kristen made an assist in the team's very first game in May 2009. Her team won the regular season championship in both 2009 and 2010. They also reached the semi-finals in both seasons.
Playing in Iceland with Stjarnan (2011)
In 2011, Kristen signed with the Icelandic team, Stjarnan. She helped her team win the league championship and the Icelandic Women's Cup. During this time, she played with ankle injuries that were not diagnosed. These injuries needed surgery and recovery after she returned to the United States.
Moving to Russia with WFC Rossiyanka (2012–2013)
Kristen joined WFC Rossiyanka in the Russian Premier League for the 2012–13 season. She played in 13 games, scoring two goals and making seven assists. Rossiyanka finished first in the regular season. She also played in two games for the club in the 2012–13 UEFA Women's Champions League.
In the 2013 season, Kristen started all 13 games and scored one goal. Rossiyanka finished fourth in the regular season. She also played in four games for the club in the 2013–14 UEFA Women's Champions League.
Playing for Western New York Flash (2014–2015)
Kristen signed with the Western New York Flash in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) for the 2014 season. She started in 19 of 22 games and made one assist while playing as a defender. The Flash finished seventh in the regular season.
She returned for the 2015 season. Kristen started 10 of her 11 games and made one assist. The team finished seventh again.
Joining Orlando Pride (2016–2020)
In December 2015, Kristen was traded to the new team, Orlando Pride. She started all 19 games she played in and scored six goals from the midfield position. The team finished ninth in their first season. Kristen was named NWSL Player of the Week for Week 12. This was after she scored two goals against the Boston Breakers, leading the Pride to a 2–1 win.
Playing for Kansas City Current (2021–2022)
On January 30, 2021, the Pride traded Kristen to Kansas City Current. This trade included a draft pick for the 2022 NWSL Draft. In return, Orlando received Gunnhildur Yrsa Jónsdóttir and the rights to Erika Tymrak. Kristen was suspended for two games in the 2021 NWSL Challenge Cup after an incident during a match. Kansas City signed Kristen to a new contract on January 18, 2022.
Kristen played for Kansas City in the 2022 NWSL Championship match against Portland. The Current lost that game 2–0.
With NJ/NY Gotham FC (2022–2024)
On December 1, 2022, Kristen signed with NJ/NY Gotham FC as a free agent. She said she wanted to be closer to her family and home. She left the club by agreement on August 9, 2024. This was to join Tampa Bay Sun FC in the USL Super League.
Playing for Tampa Bay Sun FC (2024)
Kristen was announced as a player for the Tampa Bay Sun on August 14, 2024. This was before the first USL Super League season began. Kristen played all 13 matches in the 2024 Fall Season. She left the club in January 2025.
Kristen Edmonds' International Career
On October 27, 2016, Kristen Edmonds was called to the United States national team training camp. This was her first time being called up to the national team.
