Discovery and Ongoing Work
The site of Kulubá was first discovered in 1941. Even though it was found many years ago, the work to dig up and study the ruins is still in its early stages. Researchers have been working here for over ten years. They are slowly revealing more about this ancient city.
What Has Been Found at Kulubá
So far, archaeologists have made some exciting discoveries at Kulubá. They have partly uncovered a very large palace. This impressive building is about 55 meters (180 feet) long and 15 meters (49 feet) wide. It also stands six meters (20 feet) tall.
Besides the palace, other important areas have been found. These include places where people lived and cooked their meals. A burial site has also been identified, which can tell us a lot about Maya customs.
Kulubá's Future as a Tourist Spot
