Kulvinder Ghir is a talented British actor, comedian, and writer. He is most famous for being one of the main actors in the funny TV show Goodness Gracious Me, which aired from 1998 to 2015. He also played Aslam in the film Rita, Sue and Bob Too! and Poly Verisof in the science fiction series Foundation.

Early Life and First Steps
Kulvinder Ghir was born in Nairobi, Kenya. His parents were from India and had a Sikh background. He grew up in a place called Chapeltown in Leeds, England.
Kulvinder started performing on stage when he was just 13 years old. He even performed at comedy clubs between the ages of 15 and 17. After that, he went to a drama school in London to learn more about acting.
Amazing Acting Career
Kulvinder Ghir first appeared on TV in 1981 when he was a teenager. He was on a show called The Extraordinary People Show where he asked famous animator Gerry Anderson questions about how he made his shows.
Early TV and Film Roles
In 1985, Kulvinder got a regular role as Davy Malik in the BBC drama Howards' Way. His big break came in 1987 with the British film Rita, Sue and Bob Too!. Since then, he has worked a lot in movies, TV shows, and theatre plays.
Comedy and Voice Acting
Kulvinder is best known for being one of the four main actors in the BBC sketch comedy show Goodness Gracious Me. This show was popular on both radio and TV. He played many different funny characters, like "Chunky Lafunga," a Bollywood hero, and the superhero Bhangra Man. He was also one half of the "Bhangramuffins" duo with Sanjeev Bhaskar.
Kids might also know his voice! He provided the voice of Ajay Bains in the popular children's show Postman Pat. He also lent his voice to other animated series, including Chop Socky Chooks and the 2015 version of Bob the Builder.
Recent Work
In 2009, Kulvinder was in the film 31 North 62 East, playing a character named Tariq. From 2009 to 2011, he was part of the cast of the BBC Three comedy series Lunch Monkeys, where he played Mohammed Khan.
In 2013, he appeared in the film Jadoo as one of two brothers who were arguing. He also appeared in the TV show Big School as a school bus driver. Since 2013, he has played Cyril in the comedy series Still Open All Hours.
In 2019, he played the main character's father in the movie Blinded by the Light. More recently, in 2023, he appeared in the science fiction series Foundation as Poly Verisof. He is also set to appear in the series Virdee in 2025.
