L'Alcora is a cool town in Spain, located in a region called the Valencian Community. It's part of a smaller area known as Alcalatén. This town is known for its interesting history and some really old buildings!
A Journey Through Time
People have lived in the area around L'Alcora for a very, very long time! We know this because we've found signs of humans from the Bronze Age, which was thousands of years ago.
There are also remains from the Iberians and Romans. Later, the Moorish people lived here, and they built a castle. This castle is so important that it gave its name to the whole area, Alcalatén!
In 1233, Christian armies took back the fortress. After this, the town of L'Alcora started to grow bigger around where the castle was.
Cool Places to See
L'Alcora has many interesting places to visit that show its long history:
- Castle of Alcalatén: This old castle was built between the 10th and 13th centuries by the Moorish people. It was changed a bit after the Christians took it over. The castle has an unusual triangular shape and two big towers.

- Hermitage of St. Christopher: Another historic small church, this one was built in the 17th century.
- Iberian settlement of Montmirá: This is where the ancient Iberians used to live. It's like an old village site.
- Fortified hermitage of El Salvador: This is a small church that was also built to be strong and protected, like a mini-fortress.
