Early Life and Moving Around

LaToya Howard was born in Scarborough, Ontario, a suburb of Toronto, Canada. Her father, Nigel Wilson, was a professional baseball player. Her mother is Debbie Howard. Both of her parents have family roots in Trinidad. LaToya has seven younger brothers and sisters.

When LaToya was around 11 to 14 years old, her family moved to the United States. They moved so her mother could go to college. Living in the U.S. meant LaToya's family moved often. This made it hard for her to make lasting friendships. Instead, she started making videos and sharing them online. This became a way for her to express her feelings. Later, she moved back to Toronto, Ontario.

Starting a YouTube Career

LaToya began posting videos in 2009. In 2010, she started her YouTube channel, "LaToya Forever." She posted funny skits and jokes there. One of her early popular videos was about "... Caribbean Moms Say." It showed funny things about her own mother and other moms from Trinidad.

When she was expecting her first child, Samia, LaToya started a video blog. This blog, called "LaToya's Life," showed her daily life. It was like a reality show. In 2012, she became a host for Vibe TV at the American Music Awards. In 2015, she launched the "LaToya Forever App." This app helped her fans watch her videos easily.
