LaToya Morgan is an American writer and producer who creates exciting stories for television and graphic novels. She has worked on many popular TV shows. These include Parenthood, Shameless, and Complications. She was also a writer and co-executive producer for Into the Badlands and Turn: Washington's Spies.
In 2020, LaToya Morgan signed a big agreement with Warner Bros. Television Group. She is the co-creator, executive producer, and showrunner for the TV series Duster on Max.

LaToya Morgan's Career
Working in Television
LaToya Morgan started her journey in screenwriting at the Warner Bros. Television Writer's Workshop. This program helps new writers learn how to create scripts for TV shows. Her first job as a screenwriter was for the show Shameless. After that, she wrote for other shows like Complications, Parenthood, and Turn: Washington's Spies.
From 2016 to 2020, Morgan had special agreements with AMC. During this time, she was an executive producer for a TV show based on the book The Age of Miracles. She also worked as a writer and co-executive producer for Into the Badlands. She was a writer and consulting producer for The Walking Dead. LaToya Morgan also helped AMC create programs to support new writers from different backgrounds.
In July 2020, Morgan signed a new agreement with Warner Bros. Television Group. This was through her own company, TinkerToy Productions. That same year, she won a short film competition called Telling Our Stories. Her film, Team Marilyn, was then shown on Starz.
LaToya Morgan is writing the script for a new movie. It is a reboot of the classic horror film Night of the Living Dead. The movie will be directed by Nikyatu Jusu.
She also worked with famous producer J.J. Abrams to create a crime drama called Duster. This show was ordered by HBO Max in 2020. The series started in May 2025.
Other Creative Work
In April 2019, LaToya Morgan started a special hashtag on social media: #WGAStaffingBoost. She did this to help writers from the Writers Guild of America find jobs. This was during a disagreement between the union and talent agencies.
Morgan also writes graphic novels. Her first graphic novel, Dark Blood, came out in late 2021. She also wrote a graphic novel series called Creed: The Next Round. This series is connected to the Creed III movie. It was published in 2023. In 2024, DC Comics asked Morgan to write for their horror comic series, DC Horror Presents.
LaToya Morgan's Life
LaToya Morgan was born and grew up in Los Angeles, California. She still lives there. In 2005, she earned her Master of Fine Arts degree in screenwriting. She got this degree from the AFI Conservatory.
