LaVan Davis is an American actor. He is famous for playing the character Curtis Payne. You can see him as Curtis in Tyler Perry's popular TV shows, House of Payne (from 2006 to 2012, and again from 2020 until now) and The Paynes (in 2018).
LaVan Davis' Acting Journey
LaVan Davis started his acting career in 2004. His first role was Leroy in a movie called Mindbenders. In 2005, he appeared in two episodes of the TV show Everybody Hates Chris as a preacher.
The next year, in 2006, LaVan Davis got a big role. He was chosen to play Curtis Payne, the sometimes grumpy dad of the Payne family, in the TV show Tyler Perry's House of Payne. This show was on the TBS channel.
Davis also worked with famous writer and director Tyler Perry on two movies. He was in Daddy's Little Girls in 2007 and Tyler Perry's Meet the Browns in 2008.
Besides TV and movies, LaVan Davis has also acted in stage plays. He played Poppy in Why Did I Get Married? and Leo in Madea Goes to Jail.
