Petroglyphs are a type of rock art. They are images created by carving, picking, or scratching away parts of a rock surface. These carvings are often found in places where ancient people lived. They can show animals, people, or mysterious symbols. Scientists study petroglyphs to learn about the history and culture of past civilizations.

The Taino People and Their Art
