La Roux facts for kids
La Roux (say "Lah Roo") is a British music group. It's a duo, meaning it has two main members. These are Elly Jackson, who sings and plays keyboards, and Ben Langmaid, who plays synthesizers. They also write and produce their music together. Their sound is called electropop, which is a type of pop music made with electronic instruments. They get ideas from 1980s synthpop bands like Yazoo and The Human League.
Music Journey
La Roux started making music in 2008. They released several popular songs, called singles. One of their most famous songs is "Bulletproof." This song became number one on the UK Singles Chart.
In 2009, La Roux released their first album, which was also called La Roux. This album was very successful. In 2011, it won a Grammy Award for Best Electronic/Dance Album.
Their next album, called Trouble in Paradise, is set to be released on July 7, 2014. This new album will have a sound that is more acoustic.
