Lady Lash, whose real name is Crystal Mastrosavas, is a talented Australian musician. She sings hip-hop and jazz music. Lady Lash has Kokatha Indigenous heritage and also Greek roots. She grew up in Ceduna, South Australia, and now lives in Melbourne, Victoria. Her music often mixes poetry, observations about life, and spiritual ideas. Some of her songs share important stories about challenges faced by Indigenous people, like the Stolen Generations, and what it's like to experience racism.

Lady Lash's Musical Journey

When she was a teenager, Lady Lash started her musical journey. She was a backing singer for the Indigenous rock band Coloured Stone. The band's leader was Bunna Lawrie. Lady Lash toured with them and appeared on their album called Rhythm of Nature. The first album she ever bought was 2pac's All Eyes on Me.

Crystal started using the name Lady Lash again in 2015. That year, she released her album Milky Way. Her husband, working as Skitzo Productions, produced this album. Because of Milky Way, she was nominated for "Best Indigenous Act" at the Music Victoria Awards in 2016.

After that, she released a trip hop EP called Cats Eyes Sirens Mouth. Her next album, Therapy Tapes, came out in 2017. Lady Lash also performed at the famous Sydney Opera House. She was part of Deborah Cheetham's Indigenous opera, Pecan Summer.

Awards and Recognition

The Music Victoria Awards are a special event held every year. They celebrate the best music from Victoria, Australia. These awards started in 2006.
