Lake Dot is a natural freshwater lake in the middle of Orlando, Florida. It covers about 5.42-acre (21,900 m2), which is like the size of about four football fields. The lake is almost perfectly round. It sits in a busy part of the city, surrounded by homes and businesses.
You can often see a fountain spraying water near the center of Lake Dot.
Exploring Lake Dot and Its Surroundings
Lake Dot is surrounded by roads on all sides. On its north side is Colonial Drive, a very busy road. It looks like a small part of the lake was filled in a long time ago to make this road straight. Concord Street is to the south, and Lake Dot Circle runs along the east and west sides of the lake.
Lake Dot Park
Around Lake Dot, there's a narrow strip of public land called Lake Dot Park. This green space is between the lake's edge and the busy roads. It's a bit wider on the south side. Even though it's on city maps, it's not officially listed as a city park.
What You Can Do at Lake Dot
Lake Dot is a quiet spot in the city. However, it's important to know that you cannot go swimming or boating in this lake. There isn't much information available about what kinds of fish live in the lake either. It's mainly a place to observe from the shore.
