History of Lake Fork
Lake Fork was started in the year 1881. It got its name from a place called Buffalo Lake. This lake was once a large wetland in the prairie, but it has now disappeared. It was located in the southern part of Logan County. The lake was also near the upper part of a stream called the Lake Fork of Salt Creek. A post office has been open in Lake Fork since 1881, helping people send and receive mail.
