What is a Reservoir?
A reservoir is like a giant storage tank for water. Lake Kedron was created by people. It was made by blocking off a part of Flat Creek. Other smaller streams also flow into the lake.
Reservoirs like Lake Kedron are very important. They help make sure that nearby towns have enough water. This water can be used for drinking, washing, and other daily needs.
How Lake Kedron Works
Water flows into Lake Kedron from Flat Creek and other small channels. At one end of the lake, there is a dam. This dam holds back the water. When water is released from the dam, it flows back into Flat Creek.
Flat Creek then continues its journey through the middle of Peachtree City. It even helps to fill another important lake, Lake Peachtree. After that, Flat Creek joins with Line Creek southwest of the town. This whole system helps manage water for the area.
