History of Lake Rogers Park
The land for Lake Rogers Park was first leased in 1987. The City of St. Petersburg leased it to Hillsborough County. The idea was to create a place for people to enjoy nature quietly. However, the park did not open right away.
It took until 1999 for the park to get the money it needed to operate. The Hillsborough County Commissioners provided the budget. The park officially opened its gates to visitors in March 2000.
Parking Information
As of 2020, there is a small fee to park your vehicle at Lake Rogers Park. It costs $2 per car. If there isn't an attendant present, you can pay using machines that accept cash or credit cards.
