Langley Park, also known as the McCormick-Goodhart Mansion, is a beautiful old house in Langley Park, Maryland. It's located in Prince George's County, Maryland. This large mansion was built in 1924 by the McCormick-Goodhart family. It was designed in the Colonial Revival style, which means it looks like a grand home from America's colonial past.
The mansion has 28 rooms and is about 18,000 square feet. It cost $100,000 to build back then. Today, it's a well-known landmark on 15th Avenue.

The Story of Langley Park Mansion
The name "Langley Park" comes from a large piece of land, or estate, that was created in 1923. The McCormick-Goodhart family owned this 540-acre estate. They named it after their family's old home in England, called Langley Fields.
Family History
The family had important connections. Frederick Goodhart's wife, Henrietta Laura McCormick, was the daughter of Leander J. McCormick. Leander McCormick was one of the people who started a very big company called International Harvester. This company made farm equipment. The estate also included another local landmark, the Adelphi Mill.
Changes Over Time
After many years, the large estate began to change. In the late 1940s and early 1950s, the land was divided up. New homes and apartments were built, creating a planned community. There was also a major shopping area developed.
The mansion itself also changed hands. In 1947, the Eudist Order, a religious group, bought the mansion. They used it as a seminary, which is a school for religious training, until 1963.
Later, the mansion became the Willowbrook Montessori School. This school operated there until the early 1990s.
A Community Hub Today
In 2010, the mansion got a new life. After a big renovation project that cost $13.8 million, it reopened. Today, it serves as a multicultural service center. This center is run by CASA of Maryland and helps many different people in the community.
A Historic Landmark
Langley Park mansion is considered a very important historical building. It was officially added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 29, 2008. This means it's recognized by the United States government as a place worth preserving because of its history and architecture. It was even featured as a "property of the week" by the National Park Service when it was listed.
