What is a District?
A district is a way to divide a country into smaller parts. This helps with managing things like local government, services, and everyday life for people. Each district in Cyprus has its own capital city, which is usually the largest or most important city in that area. The capital city is where many of the district's main offices are located.
Cities and Villages in Larnaca District
The Larnaca District is home to different types of places where people live. These are called municipalities and communities.
Municipalities
Municipalities are like bigger towns or cities that have their own local government. They manage things like roads, parks, and local services for the people living there. The Larnaca District has six municipalities:
- Aradippou
- Athienou
- Dromolaxia–Meneou
- Larnaca
- Livadia
- Pano Lefkara
Communities
Besides the municipalities, the district also has 53 communities. These are usually smaller towns or villages. They also have local councils that help manage their areas, but they might have fewer services than the larger municipalities.
