Larry Fogle, born on March 19, 1953, is a former American basketball player. He was chosen in drafts for both the American Basketball Association (ABA) and the National Basketball Association (NBA). Larry played a couple of games for the New York Knicks in the 1975–1976 season. After that, he became a star player in the CBA, helping the Rochester Zeniths win a championship in 1977–78.

Early Life and High School Basketball

Larry Fogle was born in Brooklyn, New York. He grew up playing basketball and attended Cooley High School in Detroit, Michigan. In February 1972, Larry set an amazing record. He scored 73 points in a single game against Cody High School. This was a new city league record! At the end of that season, the Detroit News newspaper named him Michigan High School Player of the Year.

College Career and Draft Picks

After high school, Larry played college basketball. He played for the University of Southwestern Louisiana (which is now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette). Later, he played for Canisius College.

Larry was a guard, standing 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 205 pounds. In the 1973–74 season, he was incredible. He led all college players in scoring, averaging 33.4 points per game. He also grabbed 14 rebounds per game. Because of his amazing performance, he was chosen in the 1974 ABA draft by the Denver Nuggets. He was also named an All-American by several groups.

Even though he was drafted, Larry decided to stay in college for another year. The next year, in 1975, he was drafted again. The New York Knicks picked him in the second round of the 1975 NBA draft. The Spirits of St. Louis also picked him in the ABA draft.

Playing in the NBA

Larry Fogle played for the New York Knicks during the 1975-76 NBA season. He appeared in two games for the team. In those games, he scored two points and had three rebounds.

Career in the CBA

After his time with the Knicks, Larry played in the Eastern Basketball Association (EBA), which later became the CBA. He played for several teams from 1975 to 1983. These teams included the Allentown Jets, Hazleton / Jersey Shore Bullets, and Long Island Ducks.

Larry found great success with the Rochester Zeniths. He helped them win two CBA championships. They won in 1979 and again in 1981. In 1979, he was even named the CBA Playoff/Finals MVP, which means he was the most valuable player in the championship games. In 1981, he was chosen for the All-CBA First Team, recognizing him as one of the best players in the league.
