Lastres, officially known as Llastres in the Asturian dialect, is a charming fishing village. It is one of 13 parishes found in the Colunga area. This beautiful place is located in the Asturias region of northern Spain. In 2004, about 1,159 people called Lastres their home.

Exploring Lastres' Special Places

Lastres is famous for its unique history and beautiful buildings. Many of its old buildings are protected because they are very important.

Santa María de Sabada Church

The Santa María de Sabada Church is a very important building in Lastres. It was built in the 1700s, making it quite old. The tall tower you see on the church was added later, in the late 1800s. This church is recognized as a "Bien de Interés Cultural," which means it's a cultural heritage site.

San Roque Chapel

The Capilla de San Roque (San Roque Chapel) sits high up in the village. From this spot, you can enjoy amazing views of Lastres. It has a special balcony where you can look out over the entire village and its busy port. It's a great place to take photos!

This small village has gained attention for a few interesting reasons in recent years.

Filming Location

Between 2009 and 2011, Lastres became a movie set! A popular Spanish TV show called Doctor Mateo was filmed here. The show was a comedy-drama produced for Antena 3. In the series, Lastres was called San Martín del Sella.

Award-Winning Village

In 2010, Lastres received a very special honor. It was given the Prince of Asturias Award for being an "exemplary Asturian town of the year." This award celebrates towns that show great community spirit and preserve their heritage.
