Laura Cardoso started her acting career very early, even before television became popular. She was a true pioneer, meaning she was one of the first to work in television when it began in Brazil in 1950. Throughout her long career, she acted in over 100 telenovelas, which are like long TV dramas, making her one of the most active actresses in the country. She won many important awards for her talent, including several Grande Otelo Awards and APCA Awards. In 2006, Brazil honored her with the Order of Cultural Merit for her amazing contributions to art.
