Laura's Early Life

Laura Stylez was born and grew up in Los Angeles, California. Her parents moved from Guatemala in the 1970s. Because of this, Laura learned to speak both Spanish and English as a child.

Her friends gave her the last name "Stylez." They often told her they liked her bold and unique fashion choices when she was younger.

Her Journey in Radio

Laura Stylez got her first taste of radio at a station in Los Angeles. At 19, she moved to New York to become a radio host. While in college, Laura worked three jobs. She also interned at local radio stations. This helped her learn all about the radio business.

Laura's first job on the radio was at a Spanish-language station called La Calle 105.9. She mostly played reggaeton music there. Later, she also worked at the urban radio station Power 105.1.

She then joined Hot 97 as a digital producer. She helped Angie Martinez with the digital parts of her show. In 2013, Laura was asked to fill in on the Hot 97 morning show. Soon after, she became a full-time co-host. She joined Ebro, Rosenberg, and Cipha Sounds. Laura has also hosted other shows, including Caliente: Latin hits on Sirius/XM Radio.

Laura is also a co-founder of the ENVSN Festival. This festival helps empower young women.
