Laurel Hall is an old apartment building located at 72–74 Patton Street in Springfield, Massachusetts, USA. It was built in 1914. This building is special because it's one of the few apartment houses from the early 1900s still standing in downtown Springfield. Laurel Hall was fixed up and updated in the 1980s. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. This means it's an important historical site.

About Laurel Hall: A Look at Its Past
Laurel Hall is on the north side of Patton Street. It sits between Main and Dwight Streets. This area is mostly businesses today. But when Laurel Hall was built, it was a quiet street with lots of trees. Another building, the Ethel Apartment House, was also built nearby around the same time.
What Does Laurel Hall Look Like?
Laurel Hall is a four-story building. It is built in a style called Classical Revival. This means it looks like old Greek or Roman buildings. The building uses yellow bricks, both light and dark shades. It also has brownstone decorations. A fancy metal trim is at the very top.
The bottom part of the building is made of rough brownstone. Above that, dark yellow bricks are used. These bricks are spaced out to make horizontal lines. A brownstone band separates the first floor from the ones above. Dark brick panels are placed between the windows on the upper floors. Tall, thin columns of dark brick frame the middle sections. The windows have brownstone pieces above and below them.
Who Built Laurel Hall and Why?
Laurel Hall was built in 1914. A real estate agent had it built. The building was designed by Bruno Wozny. He was an architect who came from Germany. Laurel Hall has sixteen apartment units inside. In its early years, working-class people lived there.
Changes Over Time
In the 1960s, the area around Laurel Hall started to change. The building became neglected. Its condition got worse. The inside of the building was damaged. But in the 1980s, Laurel Hall was completely fixed up. The inside was made modern again.
