In this role, she helped President Hassan Rouhani with important legal issues for the country. She worked to make sure laws were fair and followed correctly.

Early Work and Education

Laya Joneydi studied law at the University of Tehran. She also did special research at Harvard Law School in the United States. This research, from 2002 to 2003, looked at how commercial arbitration works. Commercial arbitration is a way to solve business disagreements without going to court. She compared how it is done in Islamic law and other legal systems around the world.

Her Ideas on Justice

Joneydi has clear ideas about how justice should work. She believes that the way legal cases are handled should be fair. This means that both sides of a case should have a chance to present their arguments.

She also strongly believes that women should be able to work as judges. She has stated that there is nothing in Islam that stops women from holding important legal jobs.
