Le Vampire at RCDB |
Le Vampire (which means "The Vampire" in English) is an exciting roller coaster at La Ronde amusement park. You can find it in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. This ride was designed by a famous Swiss company called Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M).
Le Vampire is an "inverted" roller coaster. This means riders sit with their feet dangling freely, not on a floor. It's like sitting on a ski chairlift, but much faster!
About Le Vampire
This roller coaster is a special type. It's a mirror image of another famous ride called "Batman: The Ride." However, Le Vampire is not connected to the Batman movies or comics. It has its own unique name and look.
Ride Experience
The track for Le Vampire is 823 meters (about 2,700 feet) long. Riders are lifted to a height of nearly 32 meters (about 105 feet). You'll reach speeds of up to 80.5 kilometers per hour (about 50 miles per hour).
During the ride, you will go head-over-heels five times! This means you'll experience five inversions. The ride is designed to be thrilling and fast. Le Vampire can carry many people, up to 1,400 riders every hour.
History of the Ride
Le Vampire first opened on May 18, 2002. It was built by a company called Martin & Vleminckx.
On July 6, 2012, the ride was temporarily closed. It reopened safely on August 13, 2012.
Later, on September 3, 2015, La Ronde announced something new. For a limited time during the 2016 season, Le Vampire ran backwards! This was a fun and different way to experience the ride. It also became part of a new area in the park.
