Leavells is a small place in Spotsylvania County, Virginia. It is called an unincorporated community, which means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government. Instead, it's part of the larger county.
Leavells: A Growing Community
Leavells started out as a quiet farming area. It was located where two important roads, Leavells Road (VA 639) and Courthouse Road (Virginia State Route 208), met.
How Leavells Grew
Over time, Leavells began to grow very quickly. This happened because it is close to Interstate 95, a major highway. Being near the highway made it easy for people to travel for work or other activities.
Today, Leavells has many modern neighborhoods. These include places like Cambridge, Breckenridge, Leavells Crossing, and Oak Grove.
