Lebo, Missouri facts for kids
Lebo is a small, unincorporated community located in southern Howell County, in the state of Missouri, USA. An unincorporated community means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town.
You can find Lebo south of West Plains. It sits right where Missouri Route 142 and Missouri Route JJ meet. It's also very close to the state line between Missouri and Arkansas, about one mile north of it.
History of Lebo
Lebo once had its own post office. This post office opened in 1892. It helped people send and receive mail for many years.
However, the post office eventually closed down in 1932. The community got its name from another place called Lebo, Kansas. An early settler who moved to this area was originally from Lebo, Kansas, and decided to name the new community after their old home.
