Lee Moran (born June 23, 1888 – died April 24, 1961) was a talented American actor. He also worked as a film director and a screenwriter. This means he helped make movies in many ways!
Moran was born in Chicago, Illinois. He began his career performing in live stage shows called vaudeville. In 1909, he started acting in films at Nestor Studios. He was one of the few actors who successfully moved from the silent film era to the "talkies." Talkies were movies that had sound and dialogue.

Lee Moran's Film Career
Lee Moran was very busy in the early days of movies. He appeared in over 460 films! He also directed 109 movies and wrote stories for 92 films. He worked on these projects between 1912 and 1935.
Working with Eddie Lyons
Lee Moran often worked with another actor named Eddie Lyons. They were a popular comedy duo. For 10 years, they made many short comedy films together. These films were usually one or two "reels" long. A reel was a roll of film, so these were short movies. Lee Moran stopped making films in 1936.
Personal Life and Later Years
Lee Moran was married to Esther Moran. They later settled a personal matter out of court. Lee Moran passed away on April 24, 1961. He died from a heart problem in Woodland Hills, California. He is buried in San Fernando Mission Cemetery.
