Leemon, Missouri facts for kids
Leemon is a small, unnamed place in Cape Girardeau County, Missouri, in the United States. It's not a city or town with its own government, but rather a small community.
You can find Leemon along Missouri Route 177. It's about three miles east of another community called Fruitland.
History
Leemon got its start a long time ago. A post office was opened there in 1875, which helped people send and receive mail. This post office stayed open for many years, finally closing in 1905.
The community was named after a person named Leemon Hale. He owned a sawmill in the area, which was a place where logs were cut into lumber.
