A Look at Leistville's Past

Leistville has a bit of history, even though it's a small community. Back in 1846, a post office was opened there. This was a really important place for people to send and receive letters and packages. Imagine how exciting it must have been to get mail when it was much harder to communicate! The post office served the community for many years, finally closing its doors in 1902.

A few years later, around 1906, Leistville was home to about 40 to 50 people. This shows it was a very small settlement, but still a place where people lived and worked together.
