Leisure Village is a special kind of community located in Lakewood Township, Ocean County, in the state of New Jersey. It's known as an "unincorporated community," which means it's not an official town or city with its own government. However, it's also a "census-designated place" (CDP), which means the government counts its population separately for official records.
As of the 2020 census, about 4,966 people live in Leisure Village. This community is mostly for older adults and is often called "Original" Leisure Village. This is because it was the first of three similar communities nearby. The other two are Leisure Village East and Leisure Village West. People also sometimes call Original Leisure Village "The Village of Seven Lakes."
