Leman Cevat Tomsu (born in 1913, died in 1988) was a very important Turkish architect. She made history as one of the first women in Turkey to become a qualified architect. She also became the first woman to teach architecture in her country.

Leman Tomsu graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts, Istanbul in 1934. She studied alongside another pioneering woman, Münevver Belen. Their graduation marked a big step for women in the field of architecture in Turkey.

After becoming an architect, Leman Tomsu continued to break new ground. She started teaching architecture, becoming the first woman to do so in Turkey. This was a significant achievement, opening doors for many other women who wanted to pursue careers in design and construction. Later in her career, she became a professor at Istanbul Technical University.

Leman Tomsu was not just a teacher; she was also a talented designer. In 1937, she won an architectural competition. This competition was for the design of the Kayseri Theatre, also known as the Public House. Winning such a competition showed her skill and vision as an architect. The Kayseri Theatre became one of her notable works.
