Lemonsoda facts for kids
Lemonsoda is a popular brand of fizzy drinks from Italy. It's like a sparkling juice! The company called Saga in Milan first made these drinks in the 1940s. Today, a company named Royal Unibrew owns the Lemonsoda brand.
The Story of Lemonsoda
The very first Lemonsoda drink was, of course, lemon flavored. Later, they added other tasty flavors. These included Oransoda, which tasted like orange, and Pelmosoda, which was a grapefruit-flavored soda.
In 1980, the Lemonsoda brand was sold to a company called Crodo. Then, in 1999, Crodo became part of a bigger company called the Campari Group.
For the 2003/2004 football season, Lemonsoda was the official sponsor for the Lecce football club. This meant their name was shown during games!
In 2005, a new drink called Tonicsoda was launched. It was a type of tonic water and the first new Lemonsoda product made under the Campari brand.
More new drinks came out in 2010. One was Lemonsoda Zero, which had no sugar. The other was Mojitosoda. This special drink tasted like a mojito cocktail, but it was non-alcoholic. It had lemon juice and a mint flavor.
Finally, in October 2017, the Lemonsoda brand was sold again. This time, Royal Unibrew bought it for 80 million Euro.
