Richard Leonard 'Len' Tuckey is a Scottish musician, songwriter, and record producer. He has been making music for over 40 years! Len is best known as the lead guitarist for the famous singer Suzi Quatro in the 1970s. He also helped write many of her popular songs, like "Mama's Boy".
Musical Career
Len Tuckey started his music journey in the 1960s. He played guitar in bands called The Chasers and The Riot Squad. In 1968, he joined a band called the Nashville Teens. Then, in 1972, he became the lead guitarist for Suzi Quatro's band. This made him famous around the world. As a lead guitarist, Len played the main guitar parts in songs. He also helped Suzi Quatro write many of her hit songs. After playing with Suzi Quatro, Len formed a blues-rock band called "Legend" with Bill Legend from T. Rex. He also helped manage a version of Slade for a while, featuring original members Dave Hill and Don Powell.
Personal Life
In 1976, Len Tuckey married Suzi Quatro. They had two children together: a daughter named Laura (born in 1982) and a son named Richard Leonard (born in 1984). They later divorced in 1992.
