Leon Burchill facts for kids
Leon Burchill is an Australian actor who has appeared in several movies and TV shows. He played the character Charlie in the film Stone Bros., Frankie in the TV series Redfern Now, and Benny in the movie Wyrmwood. Leon has also performed on stage, including playing Jim Krakouer in a play called Krakouer! which toured around in 2011.
Becoming an Actor
Leon studied acting at a famous school called the NIDA. He was accepted into the school in 2003 and graduated in 2005. It took him two tries to get in, showing how determined he was! At that time, he was the only Aboriginal student studying there.
Beyond Acting
When Leon isn't acting, he has also worked as an Aboriginal education officer. He taught visitors at places like Taronga Zoo and the Sydney Royal Botanic Gardens. His job was to teach people about traditional bush tucker (food) and medicine used by Aboriginal people.
